A sequence of images shows Solid Rocket Booster separation about two minutes into the flight. The star-like blob is Atlantis’ main engines burning driving the shuttle up and away from the falling boosters. The boosters go into a slow tumble before their parachutes deploy for a soft landing in the Atlantic Ocean from where recovery ships will bring the boosters back to Kennedy Space Center. < < < back to Page One of Two | |
