This nondescript blur is a telephoto shot of the flaming tail of an Atlas 2AS rocket (MLV-12) carrying a National Reconnaissance Office spy satellite nicknamed Aquila through thick clouds the night of 10/10/01. Launch occurred at 10:32 p.m. from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.
