An Atlas rocket and its associated parts and engines await restoration near Hanger C.

The 151-foot tall Cape Canaveral Lighthouse erected in 1868. The lighthouse was moved a mile inland to its present location in 1893-1894 to protect it from storm surges and shoreline erosion.

The brick building in front was used for storing lamp oil.

The image above shows one of the bedrooms inside the lighthouse where the bottom floors were used for living space.

A volunteer organization today oversees the lighthouse - the Cape Canaveral Lighthouse Foundation.

Werhner Von Braun would walk over from his office at nearby Hanger C to climb to the top of the lighthouse to watch rocket launches.
The memorial at the entrance to Complex 14, site of all the manned Mercury-Atlas launches.
A representation of the symbol for the planet Mercury made from the same steel used to make Atlas rockets incorporates a number seven to honor the orginal seven astroanuts of the Mercury program. Buried below the monument is a time capsule to be opened in 2464, providing people in the future with artifacts and memorabilia from the Mercury Program.
