An Orbital ATK Minotaur IV rocket, built from retired components of a Peacemaker intercontinental ballistic missile, launched at 2:04 a.m. from Space Launch Complex 46 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station on 26 August 2017. This rocket carried the SensorSat Demonstration satellite into orbit on the Operationally Responsive Space-5 (ORS-5) mission. SensorSat is a U.S. Air Force space surveillance system that will demonstrate the ability to observe other objects in orbit. This is the first launch of a Minotaur rocket from Cape Canaveral. | |
