Fog rises from a cow pasture at Treasure Hammock Ranch as NASA launches the Kepler spacecraft aboard a Delta 2 rocket from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station at 10:49 p.m. on 6 March 2009. The mission is geared to look for habitable planets around nearby stars that might harbor life. Principal investigator William Borucki of NASA Ames Research Center stated, “We certainly won’t find E.T., but we might find E.T.’s home.” | |
