A Delta IV rocket lifts the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite-O (GOES-O) into orbit from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station at 6:51 p.m. on 27 June 2009. From its perch high in geostationary orbit, GOES-O will provide weather coverage of the Americas for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Images of the liftoff and climb to orbit include along the top the jettisoning of the two solid rocket boosters.
