An Atlas 5 rocket lifts the European Astra 1KR television broadcast satellite into orbit at 4:27pm on 20 April 2006 from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. In this view taken at Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge, a female Osprey and her hatchlings in the nest at left have a grandstand view of the action. Coincidentally, a plane also was passing as the rocket went up. View what the Ospreys did after the launch.
